New Technological Advances
During the 1920s, Henry Ford invents the automobile. This invention would change American lives drastically. This invention would improve transportation immensely and boost the economy. The automobile became an important aspect of every American citizen's life. It gave a new way to have fun and promoted freedom for young adults. Adults would drive to work and visit family. The automobile also helped American industries. The high demand for cars created jobs and helped stimulate the economy. Radio and television had large impact on life. It created a fast and easy way to communicate. Radio would provide a chance to broadcast news and leisure things as well. Movies would provide a new way of entertainment. The invention of the airplane had a large impact also. The federal government discovered that they could used the airplanes for air-mail. This would create an easy and efficient way to transport mail. Charles Lindbergh's flight across the Alantic had a great impact on society because it proved the safety of the airplane. This proved that the airplane was one of the best inventions of the time.

Advertising changed a lot during the 1920s. Before World War One consumers had to go to the store to see what was actually there. After World War One magazines and catalogs were used. This changed advertising forever. There was also mass production which would lower the prices and there would be more products for everyone. Advertising became more about persuading people to buy their product. Advertisers would use movie stars, star athletes, and celebrities to persuade people to buy their products.
Golden Age of Sports
The 1920s was known as the Golden Age of Sports. During the 1920s people had more leisure time and they spent that time watching sports. Horse racing during the time was very popular. The Olympic Games Paris 1924 were made famous as well. This encouraged the idea of sports. The four horsemen, players on a football team, were very popular at this time as well. Red Grange was one of the biggest football players of the time. Women were also involved in sports. Suzanne Lenglen was the most famous tennis player of the time. Bill Tilden was most famous male tennis player of the time. Many enjoyed watching the Indy 500. Boxing was also popular. Everyone would know Jack Dempsey's, a famous boxer, name. Babe Ruth and the Yankees were probably the most popular at the time. A favorite past time was watching baseball. The Stanley Cup was also well known. Overall, sports were very important during this time.
